starts small and gets BIGGER!   

In Metamorphosis- Its always building up and up and up from nothing.
In Oragami- Starts from flat paper/material into a structured piece of art.
In Japan- Always growing and gettin larger in everyway possible. 


So after discovering from part 1 - my garment could possibly have layers as its linked between all three!

Summer Breif- (part 1) Explaining Origami

So orgami -
Now surely at least 1 person in someones whole family knows the classic origami game.
~You pick a colour then number and find out what the persons wrote underneath.By opening layers.

In my words-
Paper folding to create something structured.

Changing into fashion-
This ones obvious! I will have to go through different fabric techniques such as pleating to and folding and stichting to hold a certain shape. Such as points off the shoulder etc.

Summer Breif- (part 1) Explaining Metamorphosis

So I already have an idea from the start of what i want to do and closely look into for this project but i think its best that i broaden my horizon and options by looking into different areas.


So metamorphosis-

Metamorphosis is a biological process by which an animal physically develops after birth or hatching, involving a conspicuous and relatively abrupt change in the animal's body structure through cell growth and differentiation. Some insects, amphibians, mollusc's, crustaceans, Cnidarians, echinoderms and tunicates undergo metamorphosis, which is usually accompanied by a change of habitat or behavior.

So basically in my words-
Growth ! Evolving! Change! 


Changing into fashion -
If I had to do my project purely around metamorphosis then I could make a garment have layers such as when you move a layer there could be something under-neath to show the garment expanding into something else.
Or even by pattern like the pattern could get more interesting as an overlapping layer moves.
Or the fabric size could start small gradually getting larger.
Or for example a dress could start tight at the top gradually getting looser or visa versa.

Hmm ideas ideas!

My Summer brief Project-

I have been set a summer project to collect info around metamorphosis , origami , and Japanese. This will all make up one project! With an interesting outcome.A crisp white garment!

So, so far over the holidays I've been thinking on what I can do.

So the next posts over time will be research over what I've been doing with this holiday homework!
